Organizers of "Bantu Festival of Arts and Culture 2021" visits Ikot Ekpene Council Boss


The organizers of the Yearly Festival tagged " Bantu Festival of Art & Culture 2021" yesterday Friday 15th October, 2021 paid a suprised courtesy visit to the Excutive Chairman of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area; Honourable Unyime Etim.

The introduction of the TNY African Cultural Heritage Centres and Mini Musuems Ltd crew as done by the Principal of the Project, former Federal House Member, Honourable Patty Ettete Ineme, came through with an introductory speech where he introduced members of the central working committee and later unveiled the idea behind the prohect which will go along way in givng jobs opportunity to the youths in the host commumity. 

He also thanked God for giving the team the Grace to visit the Number 1 citizen in Ikot Ekpene, Hounourable Unyime Etim to intimate him on the activities in his domain and his responaibilitie.

He later introduced the repesentive from the Federal Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Mohammed.

In his statement, Alhaji Mohammed said that their visit was to meet with the Executive Chairman for him to know that he is the host of the project and to see that he has given the promoters of this project all the necessary supports they need and also to sensitize the community that look, something big is coming up and that the host community are part of the project and top beneficiaries.

He finally added that they have met with the statement and that one of the things they are told to do is to get a buy-in from the host communinty, Local Government Council and other stakeholders that the Chairman through his office should speak with the State Governmen that look; the project in their domain should be given a priority.

In his Response, the Executive Chairman, Hounourable Unyime Etim commended Hon. Patty Ettete for holding on to the dream and also promoting the Raffia Arts and craft through his annual Cultural Festival.

He added that he will make sure the project is successful  that he will do his best  amd also added that the team should work on an MOU and do well to bring in the host community and the youths in the area to be part of the project.

He also advised the team to work with the Ministry of Lands to establish the coordinate to have a suitable name for the community where a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) can be created.

He finally assured the team of an enabling environment for for a smooth running of the project and that the team should feel free to always reach out to him for any any sort of suport and guidiance.

Also present at the courtesy visit was the Consultant of the Project, Supervisor for Agriculture, and Supervisor for Works all in Ikot Ekpene Local Government council, while high point of the meeting was a photographs of a cross section of the team and Local Government Council executives.
