HON. IFIOK OKURE EMBARKS ON PRIMARY SCHOOL TOUR, DISTRIBUTES FREE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN HIS WARD

Inline with the Free and Compulsory Education Policy in the State, The councillor representing Ikot Ekpene Ward 1, Hon. Ifiok Samuel Okure has kicked off his Pep Project by embarking on Primary School Tour in his Ward.

Hon. Ifiok Samuel Okure demonstrated massive support to primary schools within his ward by distributing free Educational Materials (books, Pen, Pencils and other writing materials) to the pupils of the schools.

The Primary School Tour/Empowerment kicked off on Wednesday 19th September, 2018 and had the following Primary Schools as core beneficiaries of the Empowerment program: Government School, Urban opposite Police Station, African Apostolic Primary School, Esa Atan, Methodist Central School, Anwa Udo Akai, Government School 1, Anwa Ukoh, Anwa Udo Akai, Government School, Utu Abiakpo and Government School Utu Ikpe.

The councillor also extended his kind gesture to some of the pupils who have been attending school without sandals and furthermore promised to donate adequate sandals to each of the schools as soon as possible.

While addressing members of the press and Teachers of the benefited schools, Hon. Ifiok Okure added that the idea behind the Primary School Tour is to support the Free and Compulsory Education Policy of our dear Governor, Udom Gabriel Emmanuel whose good governance has made Akwa Ibom a destination State.

The councillor also  restate commitment to help sanitize the visited school environment to encourage the pupils in their pursuit for academic excellence while  making learning more easier as they carry out their studies in a conducive environment.
