Leader of Ikot Ekpene Legislative Council Hon. Daniel Enang and Deputy leader Hon. Inyene Usungurua led The Chairman Committee on works to an oversight function at the two major markets in Ikot Ekpene LGA.

The Leader of Ikot Ekpene Legislative Council Hon. Daniel Enang, Deputy Leader Hon. Inyene Usungurua and other members led The Chairman Committee on works, transport and urban development in Ikot Ekpene Legislative Council Hon. Esang Obong Otu to an oversight function at the two major markets in the LGA.

The priority of the function is to bring development to the good people of Ikot Ekpene LGA. According to the Honourable Councillor representing ward2, the Executive Chairman Hon Unyime Etim has put things in place for the erection of barbed wire around the market to avoid the traders from using the work ways as shops, so as to avoid it from affecting traffic and the road users. 


The Chairman committee on education/youth and sport Hon. Emmanuel Akpan who was among the team advised the traders against the sales of highly inflammable products like patrol, kerosene, diesel, etc in the market and around it's environs. 

The Deputy Leader also emphasized on the sales of illegal and unapproved tickets in the market and advised the head of the market Mr. Ekerette Otoh to put a stop to it.

Members of the legislative council promised the market authority that issues of security, construction of a clean and neat convenience, water supply and electricity will definitely be solved by the present administration. 

Having gotten all the reports and complaints from the market, the Chairman Committee on works, transport and urban development Hon. Esang Obong Otu, assured them that the government has promised to put everything in order as soon as possible.
