The chairman AKS branch of the
Nigerian Medical Association, Dr Aniekeme Uwah has been awarded a distinguished
service award by the NMA as the most outstanding state chairman in
Nigeria.
The
award was presented to Dr Aniekeme Uwah by Dr Inyang Asibong, Commissioner for Health,
Cross River State on behalf of the NMA and its stakeholders at the 57th Annual
National general conference and delegates meeting of the Association in
calabar, Cross River State.
The NMA through its National
President Prof Mike Ogirima and National Secretary Dr Tanko Sununu noted that
Dr Aniekeme Uwah was conferred with the distinguished service award as the most
outstanding state chairman in recognition of his distinctive and selfless
service to NMA Akwa Ibom and NMA National.
In this acceptance speech, the
recipient Dr Aniekeme Uwah thanked the NMA and all Nigerian Doctors for finding
him worthy of such great honour. He dedicated the award to all Nigerian medical
doctors who elected him as the 13th Chairman of the NMA in Akwa Ibom State. He
promised to do more to enhance qualitative health care delivery in Akwa Ibom
and Nigeria through the NMA.
Also awarded at the National
conference was Senator( Dr) Olaranweju Tejuosho, Chairman senate committee on
health among other notable medical doctors and Nigerians.
