Entertainment Stakeholders Pass Vote of Confidence on Utang Akwa Ibom, Call on Governor to establish Entertainment Bureau

Entertainers in Akwa Ibom State on Friday, May 24, 2019 passed a vote of confidence on the Special Assistant to Governor on Entertainment Industry, Hon. David Sergeant, Utang Akwa Ibom.

The motion was moved by On Air Personality and Show Promoter, Asteroid Bassey, who reeled out the silent achievement of the Governor in the entertainment industry through his aide, Utang Akwa Ibom in the last four (4) years. Asteroid said it has been a season of positive engagement and the donation of bus by the Governor capped it all up. 

The motion was seconded by the immediate past Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria, (AGN) Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Emmanuel Owuala ( Emma Solution) who said 'we have never had it this good'. 

To buttress the motion, Film Director, Moses Eskor made a plea to His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel to touch not God's anointed and appointed, instead, he should be promoted to the office of a Senior Special Assistant.

Speaking further, in all amount of seriousness, Mr Eskor stressed the viability of the entertainment industry. He called on the Governor to consider the establishment of a Bureau of Entertainment, to further expand the scope of government involvement to activate the income earning potentials of an industry that employs of over 10, 000 youths in the state. 

In his vote of thanks, the Secretary of State Entertainment Working Committee, Comedian Sir James commended Utang for a fatherly and brotherly role he has played to entertainers during his time in office. He also thanked him for the opportunity to serve. 

The meeting coincided with a press briefing on the role of entertainers in the line up of activities to mark the swearing in ceremony of Governor Udom Emmanuel for a second term. 
A concert. 'i Rise with Udom' Concert will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at Ibom Plaza while Tuface, Kcee and Harrysong will join top entertainers in the state to perform at the stadium for the swearing in proper and a reception at the Governor's hometown in Onna.
