Governor Udom Emmanuel fetes Akwa Ibom Entertainers, Donates Bus, promises Interest Free Loans and Entertainment Village!

His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel flagged off the #EntertainersForUdom2019 March on Saturday, August 18, 2018 with his speech at Ibom Hall giving entertainers assurance of a better industry under his administration.

The Entertainment Industry march,led by the Special Assistant, Utang Akwa Ibom, had many notable faces; Oron born Eve Esin of the Nollywood fame, 92 years old Ette Ntia, Moses Armstrong, Mista Xto, Sir Wilker, Pasto Goody Goody, Sir James, Unik Brodaz, female disc jockey and Queen of the Wheels, Dj Ritzy.

The rally, which is a follow up to the membership validation exercise conducted by Utang Akwa Ibom to create a database for the industry, featured thousands of stakeholders and practitioners, musicians, both gospel and secular, dancers, comedians, actors, directors, entertainment journalists, artiste managers, marketers, show promoters, DJs, pageantry- Kings and Queens.

The Governor expressed his delight in the organization of sectors in the industry, he announced a bus donation to entertainers, he promised interest free loans to ensure that stakeholders find it easy to carry out their businesses in the state, he also gave consent to a proposed Entertainment Village.

In his words, 'just like we did for the traders and market women, we will do same for the entertainers by giving them interest free loans'.

The march, which saw thousands of entertainers on the street ended on Wellington Bassey way at the Governor's Lodge, where the entertainers took their turns to appreciate the Governor for involvement in his administration and to reaffirm their readiness to return him to office during the next general elections.

The Governor was accompanied by the Secretary to State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, State Chairman of the PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo, Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District, Obong Bassey Albert.
